There is a Point Blank machine there, apologies if I didn't pay enough attention and missed the 3

Haven't been there for a while and I don't live that far away! At least it's still there. Just been having a look on Google and it appears the other arcade in St. Ives, "Cuckoo Land" has gone. It's been turned into yet another bloody clothes shop Angry. Had some good machines as well. They had a couple of Deal 'Em machines right at the back that I always said i'd ask them about (one of which had a faulty CRT, so I thought i'd see if they would sell it) but never did. Still, there you are!
The arcade in the coastal village I live in disappeared a few yars ago and that got turned into a clothes shop as well, although it's now a restaurant.

There are a bunch of us down here that have a trip to the Arcade Barn planned as well as our own minibus tour of coastal arcades in the area.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) Point Blank 3 has gone as the PCB died and repairing it is not worth it - so Point Blank 1 is back in the cabinet - I've repaired the monitor so it looks quite good now.

You missed a few Smile
Our horrendously noisy Extreme Shock for one.
AfterBurner Climax deluxe.

Since you visited we've acquired a 'DeadStorm Pirates'
and put a new 42" LCD in 18 Wheeler.

On the fruits side we've got Barcrest's Community gaming on a pair of 777s

Quite frightening to think of what we've thrown away - was watching Antiques Roadshow recently when they featured a Jennings fruit machine - we threw away dozens of them - a non working one was valued at £700.

I can remember loading onto a lorry for scrap...
Buggyboy 3 screen
TX1 3 screen
Dragons Lair
Hard Driving
Time Crisis
Super Sprint
Mad Dog Mcree

Terrible waste as we bought fighting games which soon became unpopular.

I still have fun nowadays playing Mr Do on Mame - we had the real thing & Mr Do Castles & all the other release on Deco Tape - also Burgertime, Burnin Rubber...too many to mention -

Hey Chris..

All arcades did the same thing - I guess nobody expected "old tat" to become popular/rare/expensive.

Street Fighter 2 has a lot to answer for, all those dedicated woodys converted into SF2..

Ouch, a lot of nice cabs gone :(
Know what you mean about all the SF2 conversions! Although you could argue that SF2 extended the eventual demise of Arcades as we used to know them. When I used to go it was to play SF2, and then play the other games after.

Whenever we came to Cornwall (which was a regular thing, we'd go to Cornwall at least 3 times a year as my parents, especially my dad loved it down here) we'd usually go to St. Ives and I always made it a point to go to the Harbour Amusements as it was (still is!) one of my favourite arcades, along with a few others. As I say in my post above, where I now live in Mevagissey, Cornwall the little arcade I use to go in was closed a few years ago (probably a good 6 or 7 years ago at least) and replaced with a clothes shop or two, then a restaurant which it is now. Cry

I'll have to pop down to St. Ives and make another visit at some point! I'm only about 40 miles away!

I used to always, without fail have a go on the Buggy Boy (Or TX-1, can't remember which) whenever I went there! Just inside the front doors wasn't it - where you've got your ATV Track now (I think there was an ATV Track there last time I was there!) I remember being quite miffed and slightly saddened when I went there and the 3 screen cab was gone! LOL They'd be worth a fair bit now if you still had them! I'd have loved to have got my hands on all of them at the time if I'd had the funds and space (no space now either!) Smile

I remember also my mum used to make it a point to have a go on the grabber machines inside the front doors to see if she could get a cuddly toy or something! Succeeded on a few occasions! Smile

The 18 Wheeler still had the (Mitsubishi/Hitachi?) CRT projection monitor when I was last there.

Whatever happened to the Namco Shoot Away you used to have round the back where the dance machines are (or were - have you still got them?). Had that up until quite recently if i'm right? Confused

Have you still got anything unusual in store Chris?

I wonder what happened to all the cabs from Cuckoo Land? Ouch

Cheers, Tony

Very likely - it was a large enclosed cabinet with a bench seat - don't know why but I couldn't watch people play it as it made my eyes go a bit weird.
